Glossary

  • Air bag – inflated with compressed air packages to ensure the protection of the toner cartridges in the transport
  • OPC (Organic Photo Conductor) drum  - is a core element of most laser toners. Most common damages of the OPC drum are mechanical damages, arising for example due to wear by contact with other elements, especially with wiper blade
  • Chip – is an electronic system counting number of made copies (prints)
  • Developer roller – serves as a mag roller, used for two-component toners
  • Charging electrode/ primary charge roller - electrostatically charges surface of the OPC drum. After cleaning the light-sensitive drum comes to the charging electrode and the cycle begins again
  • Fuser Fixing Film – is a foil fusing roller heater
  • Wiper blade - removes from surface of the drum left remains of toner, which are then stored in a container called a "waste bin"
  • Doctor blade – located at the contact point between the toner container and a magnetic roller. Amount of toner dosed to the magnetic roller, its even distribution, and transfer of toner to the paper surface is dependent on it.
  • Cover the magnetic roller - part of the magnetic roller, which is most vulnerable to damage, its replacement improves the print quality
  • Seal – is a protection used in laser cartridges everywhere where there is no mechanical protection. Seal has a layer of glue and ribbon that you remove before putting the toner into the printer
  • Clearing liquid (external, internal) – used to clean the heads and ink cartridges
  • Powder - powder is used to sprinkle the OPC drum, its task is to reduce the friction between the strip cleaning wiper blade and a OPC drum
  • Copper Grease – provides excellent conductivity of electricity and protects the contact points from oxidation. Grease lubricates all the electrical contact points of a cartridge.
  • Syntetic Gease - reduces the coefficient of friction in all the mechanisms and protects against penetrations of current, it lubricates well plastic because it does not interact with them in chemical reactions
  • Feeler - measuring instrument which is used to determine the size of gaps or clearances between adjacent surfaces (while cartridge remanufacturing it is used for positioning doctor blade)
  • Toner – colorant powdered chemical substance used in cartridges for laser printers and copiers
  • Mag Roller - generates a magnetic field that sustains the toner on the roller surface
