PRODUCT DICTIONARY

  • AIR BAG

professional protective packaging, primarily for toner cartridges. Walls filled with air ensure safety of the transported goods during transport.

  • Opc drum

is a component that transfers toner from the development unit to the paper in a mono laser printer/copier, or to the transfer belt in a colour printer/copier.

  • CHIP

an electronic system that transmits information about the status of consumable parts in a print/copying device, e.g. toner, drum unit, developing unit, etc. The chips also count the number of prints/copies to inform the user of the device about the end of life of toners, drums, developing units, etc.

  • Spare parts, service parts

e.g. rollers, axles, separation claws, filters, hinges, levers, springs, fans, sensors, heaters, temperature sensors, PCB boards, clutches, motors, belts, guides and other parts from which printing devices are built.

  • Fuser fixing film

one of the most important part of the fusing unit in the laser device. It is installed in the heating unit, directly cooperates with the image media (paper, xerographic foil).

The fusing film is the element responsible for the correct toner fusing on the media at the last stage of the printing/copying process.

  • Gears

drive parts used in printing devices to transfer the drive from the motors to the main components of printing/copying devices.

  • Drum cleaning blade

from the surface of the OPC drum scrapes off the residual toner that left on it without being transferred to the print media/transfer belt during the printing process.

  • Transfer belt cleanig blade

from the surface of the transfer belt scrapes off the residual toner that left on it without being transferred to the print media during the printing process.

  • Bearings, bushings

are used primarily in components and parts in which the components rotate, i.e. in fusing units, developing units, drum units, PCR rollers, transfer rollers, paper guide rollers, etc. The task of the bearings is to allow those parts to rotate with the least possible resistance.

  • Developer/Magnetic roller sleeve

a metal sleeve that is the outer shell of the developing roller, by means of which toner is transferred to the surface of the OPC drum. Inside the developing roller sleeve there is a magnetic core, which in the case of assembly a new developing roller sleeve is reinstall from the previous one.

  • Transfer belt film

the most important part of the transfer belt unit.  Its task is to transfer toner from the surface of the OPC drum to the print media (paper, xerographic foil, etc.). Transfer belts are primarily used in color printing/copying devices.

  • Seal

used to secure toner in toner cartridges. Separates the toner container from the developing roller to prevent toner from spilling out during transport. It is removed from the toner cartridge before it is used in the printer.

  • Pick-up, feed, separation rollers

are used to pick up and feed paper from the paper tray (paper cassette, paper deck unit, bypass/manual tray) of the printing device. Separation rollers - prevent more than one sheet of media from being fed from the paper tray (paper cassette, paper deck unit, bypass/manual tray).

  • Fuser cleaning web

a part used in the fusing units. It is used to clean the surface of the heating roller from toner, which adheres to its surface during the toner fusing process.

  • Toner

powder, which is usually a mixture of polymers, pigments, resins and additional substances. Toner particles have very small diameters, defined in micrometers. Toner cartridges for laser machines are available in four colors: black, cyan, magenta, yellow. Toners are available as finished products, dedicated to specific models of printers, multifunctional devices and copiers (tubes, cartridges, etc.), or toners for remanufacturing, in bulk packaging (bottles, bags, barrels).

  • Pigment ink

dedicated for printers with a fixed printhead, which provide high speed, high quality and efficiency of printing and savings.

  • Pressure roller, lower (pressure, lower roller)

one of the most important part of the fusing unit in the laser devices. It directly cooperates with image media (paper, xerographic foil). The pressure roller is the part responsible for the correct toner fixing on the image media at the last stage of the printing/copying process. It is responsible for getting the right pressure with the heating roller or fixing film unit, necessary for the proper toner fixing on the image media.

  • PCR (primary charge roller)

a part of the drum unit; in some devices it exist as a individual part. The charging roller rotates simultaneously with the OPC drum and charges the surface of the drum to a uniform negative potential.

  • Developer roller (Magnetic roller)

the most important part of the developing unit. It transfers toner from the development unit to the surface of the photoconductor, playing an important role in the print/copying process.

  • Transport cover

protective elements, covers that protect parts of printing devices against mechanical and transport damage. Protection covers are primarily used to protect OPC drums, developer rollers, toner cartridges, drum units, developing units, etc.

  • Waste box

the container collects the residual toner that has been scraped off from the surface of the OPC drum after the printing/copying process. Toner collected in the container is not reusable.

  • Drum unit

a main component consisting of a OPC drum, a PCR charging roller, a drum cleaning blade and a used toner container. In the drum unit there are processes that enable the creation of the image on the media.
